Echinopsis: It is a genus of cactus native to South America, sometimes known as the hedgehog cactus, sea urchin cactus, or Easter lily cactus. A small species, E. chamaecereus, is known as the peanut cactus. The 128 species range from large tree-like species to small spherical cacti. Its name derives from the echinos hedgehog or sea urchin and its opsis appearance, which refers to the dense spines of these plants. They are notable for the large size, tube length, and beauty of their flowers, which appear much larger and more attractive than expected, often carried on small and fluffy stems.
