Susan is the youngest of seven siblings, so at one point, there were nine people living in her home. A lot more space must be present today. As you explore the house, you’ll notice many adorable animal ornaments and framed plaques documenting her career, both of which speak to her kind heart and easygoing demeanor. Upstairs Susan takes us to the room she and her two sisters used to share, which is now exclusively hers. She reminisces about her childhood, when she used to listen to The Osmonds on the record player that sat in the corner. Her siblings had long since fled the nest by the time her father passed away in the 1990s. Susan stayed at home and took care of her mother, who was getting on in years, until her death in 2007. “Some people seem surprised that I choose to stay in my family home. Why shouldn’t I? I feel Mum is still here and there are so many good memories… I’ve spent most of my life in this house and I won’t move now, because I feel it’s part of my new history,” she said.
