Discover the unforgiving beauty and resilience of life in Oymyakon, Russia, the world’s coldest inhabited village. Adventurer Amos Chapple braves extreme cold to document the daily lives of people living in temperatures that can drop below -62°C, revealing stunning photos and remarkable stories of survival.

Using a camera in these conditions was just as challenging. "The vapor from my breath was as dense as cigarette smoke, so I had to hold my breath while taking photos," says Chapple. Focusing the frozen lens also proved to be a significant struggle.
