Below are eight awe-inspiring underwater statues you may have never known existed.

Lion of the Neptune Memorial Reef – Florida
Located 3.25 miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, Florida, the Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cemetery designed by artist Kim Brandell. One of the most striking sculptures on the reef is a majestic lion, standing guard over the remains of those buried at sea. The reef was created as an environmentally friendly resting place, with plans to hold up to 850 remains. Over time, this unique memorial has also become a thriving habitat for marine life.
